I can’t believe how similar our stories are! Ahhh! Amazing. I, also, believe getting ovarian cancer was one of the best things that had to me because it made me prioritize my life.
    Woo! Go Kathy!

when female cancer of any kind appears we must act quickly to treat it. This must involve the removal of all female sites where this cancer can matastisize. Breast, Ovaries and Uterus. Sadly my neighbor passed away late Xmas Eve from what had started out as ****** cancer. Cancer spread to the remaining single ovary they had left floating in the abdomin, which lodged against her her bladder, inoperable, incurable and deseased. After all her suffering, one single ovary ended her life.. How tragic.

Jessica Tandy and Gilda Radner both dies from this disease. It isn’t picky and sure isn’t for wussies.

Ms. Bates, you’re in my thoughts. You’re tough, I know. You can fight this and win. Win it for my sister. Win it for all the others.

In memory of Lee Anne Ozee, the beautiful little deaf lady from Texas. I will outlive my big sister next year which is something that looms in the distance for me like a sinister blackness I cannot escape. Losing her has been hard.

I lost my sister, Lee Anne Ozee (37) to ovarian cancer in 2006. For her, the symptoms were mild suggesting GI issues rather than cancer. There was bloating, gas and difficulty with bowel movements and we treated it as such. Before we knew it, we were saying goodbye.
The motto for the ovarian cancer society is: “It whispers….so, listen.” Most women believe that regular GYN appts check for this, but they don’t. They only offer it to those with heightened risk factors due to cost.

She is absolutely one of THE most incredible actresses of all time. if they paired her and Sally Field together in a drama it would be an outstanding performance no doubt

You took the words right out of my mouth. Sometimes I think the “orphan cancers” need to band together.

Come here pancreatic etc! We’ll stand with you.

Thank you Kathy Bates. I wish the video mentioned that 75% of ovarian cancer is diagnosed in advanced stages (like me) where 5 yr survival is 45% with I think 70-90% chance of reoccurrence. Once it reoccurs, it usually returns in the same or less time. If Kathy Bates was in early stages, she’s 1 of the lucky few. All woman need to be aware of this cancer. Nothing against ****** cancer, but could we stop with the pink ribbon flood and send some funding to the much more deadly ovarian cancer?

Thanks for helping to get awareness out there! I too had Ovarian cancer and survived. One of my mission has been to help to educate as many people as I can to the symptoms of this deadly disease.

Awareness is so important and you are saving lives through your story. Maybe not the life of the person watching but maybe of someone that person knows who they tell about your video.
I was Sept. 5 2008 with ovarian cancer-the cancerous cells was encapsulated inside a soccer ball sized mass, so no chemotherapy or radiation; importantly, it was removed at an early stages. Now, I talk with everyone about ovarian cancer and hope it makes a difference. Gotta kick cancer’s **** soon.
