A lump that is painless or painful can be cancer and as far as the speed of spread if it spreads at all, the best and really only answer should come from your oncologist/urologist. The first step to take if you suspect you have a problem, is to make an appointment with a urologist. This is his/her special area of medicine and if necessary you will be referred to a oncologist, a cancer specialist. Not all lumps are cancer and not all pain in the testicles means cancer. I just recently had a severe infection in one testicle and the pain was terrible but, it was just that – an infection and it is being taken care of with a course of antibiotics courtesy of my urologist. Don’t be nervous, get it checked out and won’t you be pleasantly surprised to find out you have nothing to worry about? Good luck and best wishes.
Are you having back pain? General “not feeling” well? Do your testicles feel kind of sore? Is the lump small, such as a “pea” shape?
If so, it could possibly be testicular cancer. All of the above was what I experienced and I had testicular cancer.
The thing is, you really need to see a physician to determine what it is, for sure. They are the one’s that can determine if it is or not. You could just have an infection or something. Could be the epiditimitis. But go see a physician or, preferably a urologist.
I know it isn’t easy, especially for guys, to go to the doctor about stuff like this, but you really need to go and go QUICKLY. The longer you put this off, the worse it can be.
Now… all that being said… here is the good news. Testicular cancer is VERY TREATABLE. It is one of the FEW cancers that, when detected early and, in some cases, such as mine and Lance Armstrongs, when it has spread, can STILL be cured. But again, TIME IS OF THE ESSESNCE!!! Go get checked out now and put your mind at ease. GO TO THE DOCTOR!
If you have a lump it is best to go to a urologist for an exam. Testicular cancer (TC) is a rare cancer – ~8000 people get it in the US every year. And it has the highest survival rates. Just go to your urologist for an exam. Most likely it is epidimitis – but you will get peace of mind. The most definitive test is an ultrasound which will allow the urologist to tell if it is TC.
